Software Engineering with AI
You’ve probably heard about technology manifestos, like the famous Agile Manifesto that changed the way we work as teams. Well, now there’s another one aiming to set a new direction: the Vibe Coding Manifesto.
I found this manifesto at vibemanifesto.org and it resonated with me because it puts into words what many of us already feel: coding with AI doesn’t mean doing less, but creating differently. It talks about flow, speed, creativity, and how artificial intelligence can become our most powerful ally when building. I felt completely identified with it, as it reflects exactly what I teach in this course. That’s why I want to share it with you.
We are discovering a new way to create software by integrating AI, iteration, and human judgment. Through this work, we have come to value:
Focus on the problem, not the code. Code is just the means; what matters is solving the right problems.
Human judgment is the ultimate filter. AI can generate infinite solutions, but your judgment picks the best one.
Think in systems, not syntax. The best engineers don’t just code—they design, evaluate, and iterate.
AI is your co-creator. Its purpose is to amplify your impact, not replace your role.
Speed is the new craftsmanship. The priority is to deliver valuable software continuously and rapidly.
Deliver in minutes, not days. With AI, development can move at the speed of your thinking.
Change is fuel. New requirements aren’t a burden—they’re an opportunity to improve.
Simplicity scales. Moving faster means building less and keeping only what’s essential.
Code is disposable. Don’t get attached: if it doesn’t work, regenerate and keep moving.
Favor reinvention over patching. When a solution stops being useful, rebuilding is often clearer and more efficient.
Optimize for acceleration. Think of exponential speed as part of your product’s design.
Evolve constantly. Teams should regularly reflect, adapt, and improve tools and workflows.
