My Story: From Developer to Cybersecurity Enthusiast

I want to tell you a bit about myself because this course isn't just about hacking machines, but about sharing a passion that changed my life. At 20, I left an engineering career that didn't fulfill me and jumped into the world of technology. For seven years, I worked as a backend developer, creating systems and solving problems. But one day, I discovered cybersecurity, and it was like lighting a spark: I knew I had found my place.

I specialized in ethical hacking and started researching at the OWASP Foundation, the leading organization in web security. In 2023, I was recognized as a Top Researcher by EC Council thanks to my research in ransomware solutions. I've worked as a penetration tester, where I've hacked more than 100 machines in different environments, as a DevSecOps consultant, and I've created tools in Python, including an encryption application available on GitHub.

But what I'm most passionate about is teaching. I've taught Linux, networking, programming, and cybersecurity in the Valencian Community, and I've trained people with disabilities in digital competencies through programs like Ciberseguras with Laboratoria and Cisco Networking Academy. My students say I'm patient and approachable, and I strive to make each class clear and fun. • What we'll do: This machine simulates a web application with accessible source code due to a configuration error. I'll teach you how to find and analyze that code to discover vulnerabilities.
• How we'll do it: We'll use tools like Burp Suite and custom scripts to exploit errors and understand how to protect similar systems.
• What you'll learn: How to detect flaws in web applications and propose secure solutions.

Customer Service: Route Discovery and Password Cracking

• What we'll do: This machine represents a customer service system with hidden routes and weak passwords. Let's find them and get in!
• How we'll do it: You'll practice enumeration techniques to discover routes and use tools like Hashcat to crack passwords.
• What you'll learn: How to identify weak points in systems and prevent authentication failures.

STARTUP: NTLM Hash Attack via Public SMB

• What we'll do: This machine simulates a corporate network with a misconfigured SMB server. We'll take advantage of that vulnerability to capture credentials.
• How we'll do it: We'll use Metasploit and Responder to intercept and crack NTLM hashes, learning how network attacks work.
• What you'll learn: How to exploit network services and protect corporate servers.
