Short answer: a coding bootcamp in the US usually costs between $10,000 and $20,000 in tuition before discounts. The four schools we repriced on October 16, 2026 list from $9,995 (Coding Dojo, one stack) to $19,480 (Hack Reactor). Course Report's December 2024 comparison put the average full time US bootcamp at $13,584, with a range of $7,800 to $21,000.
That range is only useful if the schools in it still take students. Three names that used to appear in cost tables, ours included, don't: Code Fellows has ceased operations, Launch Academy is closed, and General Assembly stopped enrolling individual students on April 28, 2026. Below are the prices that still apply, where each one comes from, and what the sticker price leaves out. Price is only half of the decision, since the answer to are coding bootcamps worth it depends on completion, career support, and the skills a program actually teaches.
Last verified: October 16, 2026. Every school price on this page comes from that school's own tuition or program page, read on that date and linked in the table. The average comes from Course Report's cost comparison (updated December 3, 2024), which is older than our school prices. We don't publish city averages or placement rates here because we couldn't find a dated source for them. Bootcamps change tuition often, so check the school's page before you sign anything.
Coding bootcamp cost in 2026 at a glance
| What you pay for | Typical cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Full time immersive bootcamp in the US (9+ weeks) | $13,584 on average | Course Report, updated December 2024 |
| Price range of those immersive programs | $7,800 to $21,000 | Same Course Report comparison |
| Schools we repriced on October 16, 2026 | $9,995 to $19,480 | Each school's own tuition page, in the table below |
| Costs on top of tuition | Living expenses, transport, and a laptop that runs your tools | Budget for them if you study full time |
What moves the price the most:
- Format and length: full time immersives cost more per week but finish sooner; part time programs spread the cost and let you keep earning.
- Location: in person bootcamps in big cities usually charge more than online or smaller city programs.
- Support included: 1:1 mentorship, career coaching, and job guarantees add cost, so compare what each price actually includes.
- Financing: installments, loans, scholarships, or income share agreements change what you pay upfront, not always the total.

What a coding bootcamp is, and what you're paying for
A coding bootcamp is a short, intensive program built to take you from beginner to job ready in software development, usually in a few months instead of years. The schools in our table that publish a length run from 16 to 32 weeks.
Tuition mostly pays for three things: live instruction, a structured curriculum with projects, and career support at the end. The price gap between schools usually comes from program length, how much live teaching you get, and what's bundled in, such as scholarships, financing, or a refund promise.
Coding bootcamp prices in 2026, school by school
| School | Program | Format and length | Listed tuition | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hack Reactor | Beginner Coding Bootcamp | Full time, live online, 16 weeks | $19,480 ($16,980 with its $2,500 merit scholarship) | hackreactor.com |
| Coding Dojo | Software Development | Online, part time or full time, 20 to 32 weeks | $9,995 (1 stack), $13,495 (2 stacks), $16,995 (3 stacks) | codingdojo.com |
| Flatiron School | Software Engineering Certificate | Full time or part time | $14,900 | flatironschool.com |
| App Academy | Coding bootcamp (powered by Coding Temple) | Not listed on the tuition page | $10,000 before discounts | appacademy.io |
Two things that table doesn't say out loud. First, the listed price is rarely the price you pay. Hack Reactor takes $2,500 off if you pass its aptitude test, and App Academy advertises a large discount for paying in full. Second, Coding Dojo's price depends on how many languages ("stacks") you pick, so its $9,995 and its $16,995 are really two different programs.
Schools that no longer take students
| School | Old price in our table | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Code Fellows | $9,500 | Ceased operations, per codefellows.org |
| Launch Academy | $14,500 | Closed and no longer running its program, per Course Report |
| General Assembly | $13,950 | Stopped new individual enrollments on April 28, 2026, per its regulatory notice |
If another cost guide still quotes these schools as options, treat its whole table as out of date.
What the sticker price leaves out
Tuition is the biggest line, but it isn't the only one.
- Time out of work. A full time program like Hack Reactor's 16 weeks is hard to combine with a job. Part time formats like Coding Dojo's let you keep earning, but take longer.
- Financing costs. Most schools offer loans through third party lenders. Interest turns a $15,000 tuition into a bigger number, so compare the total you'll repay, not the monthly payment.
- Living costs. For in person programs, add housing, transportation, and meals for the length of the course.
- Deposits and fees. Some schools charge a non refundable deposit to hold your seat. Read the enrollment agreement before you pay it.
